Overclocking Services

Most processors are capable of running beyond their standard rated speeds. What is involved in overclocking?

A skilled and experienced computer technician can safely change the processors clock speed so that it carries out more instructions per second. This can be done by changing the Front Side Bus (FSB) speed.

Changing the FSB setting has an effect on the other components on the motherboard such as memory. Memory speed may also need to be adjusted and the voltage to the processor may need to be increased to achieve higher clock speeds.
